Keeping an individual in the least restrictive setting while they are preparing to participate in their criminal court trial, is extremely important. We offer psycho-legal education in conjunction with existing psychiatric services (when indicated) to prepare an individual to work with their defense and understand the court process, as effectively as they can.
Our instructors teach each individual the language of the court process, the role of each professional and the concept of two sides of the process.
We start with the basics and build on to each concept so that you can effectively and realistically weigh the legal options and ask the right questions to get the best possible outcome for your situation.
We concentrate on concepts, not just language, on understanding, not just rote memory about how the court system works.
Through building this knowledge and learning some basic mindfulness techniques our students can remain calm, pay attention and be engaged in their own criminal defense.
